phra pidta

พระปิดตา

The closed-eyes Buddha: an amulet depicting a seated figure covering its eyes, and often its other sense openings, with its hands. The gesture is read as sealing the senses against harm and distraction, and devotees associate pidta with protection and good fortune. Famous pidta traditions exist across Thailand, from Bangkok masters to the esoteric schools of the south.
