takrut
ตะกรุด
A rolled metal scroll amulet. A thin sheet of lead, copper, silver, or gold is inscribed with yant, rolled into a tube, often bound with cord, and worn on a necklace or waist cord. Takrut are among the oldest forms of Thai protective objects, and their inscriptions are specific: one takrut may be written for protection, another for authority or charm.
UsageThe master inscribed each takrut by hand before the consecration.
