mongkol

Sacred headband worn by muay thai fighters during the pre-fight wai khru ram muay ceremony. Woven from sai sin and blessed by a master. Removed before the fight begins and placed elevated in the fighter's corner. The mongkol carries the protection of the fighter's teacher.
