pluksek

ปลุกเสก

Literally "to awaken by incantation": the act of consecrating an object through concentrated recitation and meditation. Pluksek ranges from a single respected monk chanting over a batch alone through one night to the participation stage of a grand multi-monk ceremony. In the tradition's understanding, pluksek is what turns a well-made object into a sacred one, and an amulet's consecration history is central to its identity.

Usage

The batch poster records that the abbot performed pluksek over the amulets for three nights.
