wat

A Thai Buddhist temple and monastery complex: ordination hall, stupa, living quarters, and the community of monks and laypeople around them. The wat is where amulets are made, consecrated, and first rented, and temple counters remain the most direct way to acquire new editions. Wat names anchor the entire field; an amulet is identified by its temple before almost anything else.

The edition was fully rented out at the wat within a week of the ceremony.
