mai-sak
ไม้สัก
The traditional sak yant needle: a long metal or bamboo rod, sometimes over a meter in length, tipped with one or more points. The master dips the tip in consecrated ink and taps it into the skin in rapid strokes while reciting katha.
UsageThe ajarn held the mai sak steady and began tapping the first line of Khom script.
